Background to Polaris HR
Polaris HR was set up in 2000 by Gerry Rooney and Joe O’Mahoney in order to provide for the growing requirements of Irish businesses and organisations in the areas of human resources and training. Following from Gerry’s background in working with the Local Government sector, our initial focus was on supporting Local Authorities and Government Departments in developing their HR functions, as well as on more specific HR and Training projects for a range of clients. Additionally we worked with the Independent Radio Sector and developed an innovative HR Programme for this growing sector. We assisted this sector in developing the Learning Waves Skillnet which now includes all of Ireland's independent commercial radio stations, and our team continues to work with this Skillnet.
Having quickly gained a reputation as a dependable and expert provider, Polaris HR grew to employ a number of staff to support its activities and began also providing services to the private sector, from our office in Swords, Co. Dublin. In late 2004, Ray Flaherty joined the business, as our third Director. Ray merged his own business, People Services Ltd., with Polaris HR and heads up operations from our Galway office.
Polaris HR now provides services to all business sectors in Ireland and continues to grow our business.
We also provide Mediation Training and Dispute Resolution Services in the United States which demonstes the quality of our services. Our investigation and mediation services are now recommended by some of Irelands leading Law Firms, HR Practicioners, Trade Union Bodies, and the Rights Commissioner Service.
Our team also regulary presents on public seminars with organisations such as Legal Island (see http://www.legal-island.ie/) and we have also delivered a CPD paper with First Law(see http://www.firstcpd.com/courses/bullying_and_harassment.shtml).
